Jeremy Scott is one of adidas Originals‘ most polarizing footwear collaborators: you either love his designs, or you hate them. Most are fitted with wings or teddy bears, others are simply dipped in metallic gold. What you cannot call them is subtle, but it seems the Three Stripes are looking to expand into slightly more understated territories with its latest JS collaboration which, once again, takes on the Forum 84 High and Low.

Starting with a white synthetic leather base, the pair has been given a comprehensive graffiti-covered makeover sporting plenty of Scott signatures. Love hearts emblazoned with “JS” initials, Trefoil logos, diamonds, petals, stars, and more appear in a pastel rainbow of haphazard drawings all over the sneakers, before more IRL touches appear on the tongue.

Here, the same motifs are turned into enamel charms that lock and intertwine with the white laces, giving the sneakers a customized attitude that feels apt given these are the 1984 styles.

Naturally, adidas branding features frequently all around, hitting up the tongue, the tongue straps, and on the insole. Both pairs are expected to drop at retailers such as Offspring on November 16 — take a closer look at the styles above.

In other news, adidas Originals gives the EQT ‘93 sandal a brown makeover.
