G-SHOCK Celebrates Frogman 30th Anniversary With First Biomass Plastic Model
Taking its cues from 1999 black and gold design.
G-SHOCK is celebrating 30 years of its asymmetrical Frogman with a new limited edition model, its first using a more environmentally friendly biomass plastic.
The GW-8230B is an ISO-standard compliant 200m water-resistant divers watch with a new Tough Solar panel designed specifically for the DW-8200 dial to update the 90s favorite with a 14-month solar-powered battery charge.
While the DW-8200 model originally dropped in 1993, here G-SHOCK revisits the black and gold color scheme of the 1999 fan-favorite DW-8200B-9A, surrounding the watch’s titanium case with black biomass plastic strap and bezel, highlighted with gold accents.
Divers will be able to log ten sets of dive times with surface interval measurements and will benefit from auto LED illumination that kicks in when the wearer tilts their wrist towards themselves.
The caseback and LED backlight both feature a special Frogman 30th anniversary logo while the watch also includes Moon Age and Tide Level displays.
The GW-8230B is available now via G-SHOCK, priced £519 GBP (approximately $607 USD).
