Quavo is making his on-screen debut in the upcoming action thriller film Takeover. Starring alongside Billy Zane, who is known for his role in Titanic, the rapper will portray Guy Miller, a former criminal in Atlanta, Georgia, looking to get his life back on track.
Miller ends up sucked back in, however, this time falling into the city’s illicit street racing scene. Zane, meanwhile, will play a character named Gamal Akopyan that runs an international heist ring.
In the first behind-the-scenes footage shared on social media, Quavo is shown battling it out with a man against a greenscreen backdrop. The character, whose identity is unknown, appears to have a leg up on Quavo’s Miller as he throws him to the ground.
Filming is taking place in Atlanta, with the project as the joint effort of Trioscope and Quality Films, the film arm of Quality Control. Takeover is written by Jeb Stuart and directed by Trioscope’s chief creative officer Greg Jonkajtys.
