DraftKings' Reignmakers Fantasy Football Let's You Enjoy the Game With NFTs

DraftKings is revolutionizing how fans play fantasy football. As a result of a recent deal with the NFLPA, the gaming platform is now able to take fantasy football to the next level by leveraging player names, images, and likenesses to create non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that are usable in daily fantasy games of skill. DraftKings’ Reignmakers initiative is an NFT-based fantasy sports game with Reignmakers Football under the brand. More games are planned for the future according to DK. With Reignmakers Football, fans can collect player card NFTs of their favorite players. Through these collections, they can create their most favorable lineup for competition against others in the digital sports realm.

The brand has composed the digital sports game with two different types of NFTs, field passes and player cards. When a customer plays an eligible Player Card NFT in a Reignmakers contest, that Player Card NFT will accrue the customer points in the same manner the player would accrue points in a traditional daily fantasy football contest while the field passes act as an access pass and grants holders exclusive access to contests, player pack drops, and more. Player Card NFTs, which can be bought and sold on the DraftKings NFT Marketplace, give holders the ability to craft lineups that can win them cash and other prizes. “The primary utility of the cards is being able to use them in contests where you [can] win over a million [dollars] every week of the season,” said DraftKings co-founder and president Matt Kalish. As users collect more and more, they’ll be able to compete in different tier levels that are associated with certain cards; Core, Rare, Elite, Legendary and the rarest, Reignmaker.

Before a user can participate in the games, they must fill all the positions in order to complete their lineup. Weekly competitions will hit the Reignmakers arena, where users can win a share of $1m worth of weekly prizes, plus merchandise, experiences and more.
