October is well underway and the world of sneakers is prepping for the shifting elements as a steady flow of fall and winter-ready looks are prepped to hit shelves. Diving into this week, Nike, Jordan Brand, New Balance and adidas are all dropping kicks worth checking out. However, before taking a look at the latest and greatest to be hitting shelves, let’s go over the big sneaker headlines for the week.

In continuation of HYPEBEAST’s Sole Mates series, we sat down with Danny Jung, founder of ACG Daily, to talk about his love of ACG and the great outdoors. As for the key headlines, Nike kept up its unmatched tempo with the Dunk series as a plethora of colorways were officially revealed, including official images of the brown “Teddy Bear” look and a split-colored “Somos Familia” colorway that celebrates the Day of the Dead. Joining this celebratory series, a complementary colorway was shown off on the Air Max 1, featuring an all-orange color palette. Slip-on fans have also been treated to yet another option as the Swoosh has revealed it is bringing back 2018’s mule offering of the Air Force 1. Swapping over to Jordan Brand, Paul Rosenberg was quick to shoot down a rumored Eminem x Carhartt x Nike SB collection. Other highlights include new images of the TITAN x Air Jordan 2 Low, Air Jordan 5 “Aqua” and Air Jordan 1 “True Blue.”

Fans of the Three Stripes have shared mixed feelings as adidas has officially placed its partnership with Ye on the adidas YEEZY line “under review.” In less dramatic news for the brand, NBA star Trae Young introduced his second collection with adidas and an official release date for the collaborative Yu-Gi-Oh! x adidas collection has been announced.

As for the rest of the sneaker world, several eccentric looks popped up this week that are anything but easy to pull off. First, TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist. presented a Chelsea boot with ASICS that blends dress with sport. Later, Wood Wood debuted a unique sock boot that is certain to keep the wearer’s feet dry while Balenciaga opted to bring a fluorescent pink to its Crocs-esque HD Lace-Up Sneaker.

With all of that covered, let’s see what this week has in store for us in the footwear space. Afterwards, be sure to slide to HBX for additional style options.

Detroit natives can appreciate the city’s map landing on the sockliner alongside subtle blue and red linework nodding to the Detroit Pistons.

Billie Eilish x Nike Air Force 1 High “Sequoia”

Release Date: October 14
Release Price: $180 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Billie Eilish fans are treated to yet another fun twist on the Air Force 1 as her partnership with Nike continues. While a low-top version of this pair has been revealed, though without an official release date, the high-top iteration is sure to suit the fall weather perfectly with its earth-toned green. Her signature strap-covered look returns, following the “Mushroom” colorway that saw a release this past April.

adidas Hu NMD S1 RYAT “Black”

Release Date: October 15
Release Price: $250 USD
Where to Buy: adidas
Why You Should Cop: As one of the Three Stripes’ most frequent collaborations, Pharrell Williams and his Humanrace line continues to be a pioneer for adidas. Repeatedly ushering in new ideas and styles each year, Williams and adidas show no signs of slowing down. Air Jordan 4 “Canyon Purple”

Release Date: October 15

The sneaker’s balance of purple and green offers a palette that suits Halloween without screaming that it’s a holiday-themed release. In addition, the playfulness of the color pairing is rare for the silhouette when compared to other entries in the Air Jordan series.

adidas YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 CMPCT “Slate Bone”

Release Date: October 15
Release Price: $230 USD
Where to Buy: adidas
Why You Should Cop: As Ye and adidas continue to face escalating tension in their relationship, one can only wonder how many years of the adidas YEEZY line we have left. Naturally, it’s hard to imagine either party stepping away from the incredible revenue the line produces, however, anything Ye related is sure to surprise. The sock-like take on the already sock-like adidas YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 finally sees the release of its lightly colored colorway.

Nike LeBron 20 “Violet Frost”

Release Date: October 15
Release Price: $200 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Presented as the lightest entry in the Nike LeBron series, the LeBron 20 steps away from James’ typical bulky looks and bundles it with a trendy flair as two Swooshes layer on the lateral. Lakers fans can decide if this lavender and gold look suits them better than the darker purple and gold covered “Vivid Purple” that also joined the rollout of the new silhouette. Lastly, anyone looking for the latest in basketball shoe technology may want to consider pulling the trigger on this court-ready sneaker to elevate their game.
