Matthew M Williams‘ label 1017 ALYX 9SM is well-versed in the footwear industry, having made waves with its collaborative Nike Air Force 1 High and its own range of mules. Now, ahead of tomorrow’s Milan Fashion Week show, MMW has taken to Instagram to showcase a bevy of shoes that are soon to be worn down the runway.

Coming as part of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection “FADE,” the shoes range from glittery and shiny takes on the Mono Slipper to a pair of bejeweled kitten heels. However, the focus has been put on innovation more than anything else, as MMW shows off a pair of sculptural shoes not too dissimilar to the pairs he’s designed at Givenchy recently, notably the Monumental.

On foot, the shoe is black and sculpted with creases and lines working their way up a hidden mid-top silhouette, utilizing a similar material to that of the Mono Slipper. As such, the shoes are smooth and perfectly combine a futuristic aesthetic with something akin to Kanye West’s newfound love of post-apocalyptic Red Wing and Balenciaga boots.

Aside from this, MMW goes on to showcase more upcoming FW22 footwear. It’s a bold move into sneakers this season, with 1017 ALYX 9SM debuting tumbled leather high tops and low top sneakers combined with an angular, smooth midsole again similar to previous slip-on pairs, as well as paneled mesh and leather hightops of the same design that seems reminiscent of the YEEZY 1050.

Take a look at Matthew M Williams’ upcoming 1017 ALYX 9SM FW22 footwear in the IG posts above, and stay tuned to HYPEBEAST for more information once the runway debuts at 8 p.m. CET (2 p.m. EST) on January 14 on the brand’s IG account.
