G-SHOCK is getting in early on the impending Lunar New Year with a limited edited MTG honoring the Year of the Tiger.

Casio worked with young Chinese graffiti artist Hou Shanzhao who created not only the engraved pattern on the caseback but a painting of a golden tiger to support the release.

The MTG-B1000 is from G-SHOCK’s “Metal Twisted G-Shock” premium line has been used as the base model for a Year of the Zodiac limited edition for the first time.

Here a gold-colored bezel and caseback are paired with a “striking red strap.” The bezel undergoes a “laser peeling” process to create its golden tiger stripe pattern.

The watch features Bluetooth and Multiband 6 connectivity, Tough Solar power and scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass.

The MTG-B1000CX-4AER is available now via G-SHOCK in the UK, priced £999 (approximately $1,370 USD).

Elsewhere in watches, Antiquorum assembles star lots from Patek Philippe, Rolex and Audemars Piguet.
