Reported back in December, Kobe Bryant’s original adidas Crazy 97 EQT sported during the NBA Dunk Contest will be hitting the shelves once again along with a new silver, blue, orange colorway dubbed as the “1997 All-Star.” The Black Mamba’s legacy continues to live on despite the end of the long-standing partnership between his estate and Nike as the German sportswear powerhouse established to bring back some of the early models worn during his Three Stripes heyday.

Bryant was nothing but extraordinary as the Philadelphia-born NBA star was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets before a swift trade to the Los Angeles Lakers during the 1996 draft and continued on to win the ‘97 Dunk Contest which was just the tip of the iceberg in his early career as a professional basketball player.

This anticipated offering takes the official hues of the particular All-Star Weekend as the uppers are put together with silver overlays housing a puddle of vivid blue, alternating stripes of black and white and the brand’s emblem in orange. Paying homage to the event, the tongue pull-tab reads “1997” and an All-Star pattern of the brand’s FYW motif is found at the heel. A strip of black tumbled leather rounds out the shoe over a white midsole and black speckled rubber outsole.

Kobe Bryant’s adidas Crazy 97 EQT “1997 All-Star” is slated to release at select retailers in February just in time for the 2022 All-Star Weekend.

Elsewhere in footwear, Bad Bunny’s adidas Forum Low in white appeared in his new video shoot.
