Aside from Birkin bags, the French luxury goods manufacturer Hermès knows how to do homeware. Showcasing at Milan Design Week, the esteemed label has introduced a new range of home goods, furniture, and oddities, each infused with its signature design appeal and new artworks from the likes of Gianpaolo Pagni.

The collection celebrates texture and the language of materials, which translates into Hermès creating bright, themed rooms that house the new pieces. For example, inside a yellow and white checkerboard set is the Sillage D’Hermes armchair, which is made from wood that’s been coated in cellulose microfibers from Puglia, Italy, before being painted in an orange-toned linework pattern and being finished with a complementing cashmere cushion.

Elsewhere, there’s a range of handmade bluestone tables and table lamps in multiple sizes, as well as leather and wicker Chromatic baskets, the aforementioned Pagni-designed Tigre Bayadére blankets, and dinnerwear in the form of painted and graphic-covered plates, espresso cups, and serving accouterments.

Take a look at the Hermès homeware collection in the gallery above, and find out more on Hermès’ website.

In other news, Herman Miller’s Aeron chair has been re-made using ocean-bound plastic.
