Following the release of its mountain-inspired third kit ahead of the 2021/22 season, FC Bayern Munich and adidas has unveiled its latest strip which celebrates one of Bavaria’s most iconic events: Oktoberfest.

Known locally as d’Wiesn, Oktoberfest has become a central part of the local culture and has been celebrated since it originated over 200 years ago. While the festival itself is unable to take place for a second year running as a result of COVID-19, smaller celebrations will be taking place across the country.

Paying homage to this iconic event, FC Bayern will debut its new Wiesn jersey on September 18 in its Bundesliga fixture against VFL Bochum, where a dark green base meets gold accents to create a connection with traditional Oktoberfest costume. An alpine edelweiss is embroidered on the nape of the shirt, while three stripes on the shoulders and the sponsor logos round things out.

The new Bayern Munich Wiesn jersey drops on September 18 and will be available via the club store and the adidas website.

In other kit news, Inter Milan and Nike have released a kit inspired by equality and inclusion.
