Shaped by serene architectural references, Tekla‘s aim from day one has been to “provide tranquillity and comfort in the space it lives”, and since its inception in 2017 the Copenhagen-based label has done just that. Whether it’s its premium sleepwear, terry towels or its plush mohair blankets, the brand’s attention to both style and quality has been evident in every collection to-date.
This season, Tekla takes this expertise into a unique, limited-edition capsule, designed for both the home and the beach, with a California-imprint that needs no introduction: Stüssy.
“Stüssy is a brand we have always admired and wanted to work with,” Tekla founder Charlie Hedin tells HYPEBEAST on why the collaboration came about. “It’s a label that grew during times where shifts that are now framing the contemporary popular cultures were taking place, shaped by youth movements and its community. Closely tied to the ocean, the brand’s values are very much in line with what Tekla stands for as well”.
The collection itself comprises a choice of co-branded Percale bedding and Poplin sleepwear, while organic cotton terry bathrobes, surfer robes and swirl beach towels — all of which arrive in a fresh earth-inspired color palette — round out the capsule.
“Designs, patterns and colourways are strongly shaped by Stüssy’s historical and cultural references,” continues Hedin. “In our own yet common way, the values that lie within nature resonate really well with the essence of both brands. We have a playful approach to creating effortless and appealing products and we hope this will show as a shared excitement from both of our communities”.
