Official Images of the Quartersnacks x Nike SB Dunk Low
The NYC-based skate mag draws from Little Debbie’s Zebra Cakes for these collaborative kicks.
To celebrate skateboarding being implemented into the Olympics (finally), Nike and its Nike SB sub-label partnered with four imprints on collaborative footwear pieces. One of those entities is Quartersnacks — a skate magazine based out of New York City — whom had the pleasure of working with the SB team on a delectable Nike SB Dunk Low concoction. For this project, it pulled inspiration from Little Debbie’s Zebra Cakes – a go-to snack that’s been popularized within the skateboarding scene.
To honor the tasty dessert, Quartersnacks reimagines the SB Dunk Low with black and white zebra patterns across the toe boxes, quarters and collars. Black overlays, shoe strings and Swooshes then get brought in for some understated contrasting. Nike SB branding is positioned on its usual tongue and insole locations in a bold red hue, but it’s been slightly modified with the Quartersnacks moniker underneath instead of the traditional “Nike SB Dunk Low” spell out. In addition, the shoes call out the mag’s Big Apple origins as its lateral heel Quartersnacks logo is a remixed version of the Nike NYC emblem that was originally designed by John Jay. “Sail” midsoles and stark black treading round off its entire look.
No release date has been announced for these just yet, but it’s likely that SNKRS and select skate shops will launch them in the coming weeks.
