One can only imagine the amount of samples that Nike runs through before officially approving a product to go into mass production, especially with its strong roster of collaborators. For this year’s Tokyo Olympics, artist Piet Parra was tasked to design a full apparel and footwear collection for the Nike SB team, and one of the items in the assortment was an SB Dunk Low. As expected, the pairs sold out and now find themselves sitting on the resell market for double its retail value, but it seems that the Dutch artist also had other ideas in mind for this team-up as four Dunk Low samples of his have just emerged.

There are noticeable design differences among these quartet of kicks from the offering that hit the public. Two of the options bear a mostly white upper, but fills in its quarter paneling and liners with traditional Parra abstract patterns that alternate between pink, orange and blue hues while the heels lateral and medial panels are decorated with fingerprint-esque black and white graphics. One of the pairs essentially utilized the same cadence as the actual launch product as it also has gum bottoms, black Swooshes and vivid patterns, but the upper visuals were flipped in terms of their color-blocking. Lastly, a bright pink pair has also surfaced, which deviates in material as it comes fabricated with breathable mesh uppers. Gum bottoms and whimsical lining also came into play for this style, but its Swooshes were instead presented with white finishes.

There’s no word as if these were ever given out as friends and family pairs or if they’ll ever drop down the road, but we’ll be sure to update you in the event that the latter occurs.
