Jeremy Garelick will direct a sequel to Murder Mystery for Netflix, with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston expected to reprise their roles, according to Deadline.

James Vanderbilt wrote the screenplay, and Garelick, who previously wrote The Break-Up, which starred Aniston and Vince Vaughn, will finalize the script. The outlet reported that Netflix is expediting production on the follow-up film, which will shoot in Paris and the Caribbean.

In the original 2019 movie, Sandler and Aniston play a married couple who are framed for the murder of a wealthy elderly man while vacationing on a yacht. During its first week on Netflix, more than 30 million users watched at least two minutes of the film, driving a four-week estimate of $73 million USD.

Garelick made his directorial debut with The Wedding Ringer, a comedy starring Kevin Hart and Josh Gad. He later enlisted American High, a production company he co-founded alongside Mickey Liddell’s LD Entertainment, to create a multitude of teen comedy movies, including The Binge, directed by Vince Vaughn, and Big Time Adolescence, starring Pete Davidson.

Recently, American High wrapped production on an upcoming Hulu comedy, titled Sex Appeal, starring Mika Abdalla and Jake Short. Aside from Murder Mystery 2, Garelick is slated to produce an untitled comedy directed by Sammi Cohen and starring Rowan Blanchard.

Elsewhere, Universal Studios has revealed a Fast & Furious 10 release date.
