Daan Van Der Linden’s Latest Nike SB Blazer Court Is Inspired by a Science Museum
Namely Evoluo, a historic institution located in his hometown of Eindhoven.
In the past, Nike‘s Nike SB sub-label has looked to Daan Van Der Linden‘s passion for fishing while creating makeups of his SB Blazer Court — but the two’s latest canvas Blazer draws its inspiration from something else entirely: a museum. Officially dubbed “Midnight Turquoise/Jade Horizon/Dark Sulfur,” the Dutch skater’s latest SB Blazer features an astral color scheme and space-inspired graphics drawn from Evoluo, a historic institution located in his hometown of Eindhoven.
Crafted of canvas, the shoe’s upper is dressed in an ultra-dark turquoise tone to represent the deepest reaches of outer space. A large, tonal rubber ollie pad on the lateral forefoot provides enhanced durability, and black leather Swooshes add branded detail. The deep-space inspiration is most obvious on the tongue tag and heel, however, thanks to a crinkled space suit-like material embellished with orange text. Blaze orange is placed on the top eyestay for a pop of flair, and insoles add a text hit of their own plus a repeating orange pattern. Down below, trim black rubber midsoles and outsoles round off the look.
Daan Van Der Linden’s Nike SB Blazer Court “Midnight Turquoise/Jade Horizon/Dark Sulfur” is available now via the Nike webstore, and is priced at $75 USD.
Elsewhere in the world of the Swoosh, Nike Sportswear has given the Waffle One a dash of ACG-esque style.
