The North Face Discontinues Atom Logo Following Futura Backlash
The move comes after fans rally behind the artist’s official statement.

As fans continue to support Futura following his official statement, The North Face has now discontinued the use of the atom logo at the center of the artist’s lawsuit.
In a statement posted to its website, the outdoors specialist has addressed the legal issue that claims it has co-opted his “stylized depiction of an atom” for use in a logo for a 2019 collection of waterproof outerwear called “FUTURElight.” “The North Face, as well as VF Corporation and its family of brands, are home to and partners of many incredibly talented artists. We have great respect for artistic individuality, expression, and intellectual property, and would never want an artist to feel otherwise.” Focussing on its “deep respect for artists,” The North Face also noted that Futura is an “artist we hold in high esteem” in reference to the alleged diminishing in Futura’s statement.
