JAY-Z is once again proving that he is not just a rapper or a hip-hop superstar, but a global business mogul. Alongside America’s largest luxury media company, Roc Nation is working together with Modern Luxury Media to launch, Edition.
Edition is expected to offer “the first fully multi-platform portal into a world of luxury that celebrates talent from diverse communities.” The platform will consist of digital and print journalism as well as a range of audio and video-based content. Isoul H. Harris, who was the former head of UPTOWN magazine, is set to be the editor-in-chief for Edition.
In a statement, Roc Nation’s own president of business operations and strategy, Brett Yormark commented on how the idea came to fruition stating, “The importance of elevating the voices of such a powerful community has never been greater. We are excited to devote our efforts in creating a platform that is not only exciting but necessary in order to push the luxury media industry forward.”
Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez said, “This is a proud moment for Modern Luxury to bring Edition to life in partnership with Roc Nation and to ensure diverse voices are championed and represented within the luxury space.” Modern Luxury Media’s own CEO acknowledges the monumental partnership, agreeing that Edition will be a “pivotal evolution within the industry.”
Edition is expected to launch in the winter of 2021.
