Closer Looks: adidas Originals x Pharrell PW HU NMD N.E.R.D.
The 20th-anniversary-celebrating pair is dropping on August 6.
N.E.R.D. is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its iconic studio album In Search Of…, and in honor of this adidas Originals and N.E.R.D. member Pharrell Williams have come together again for a new colorway of the PW HU NMD N.E.R.D. sneaker.
The previously-seen sneaker presents a Primeknit and BOOST construction mixing together a palette consisting of “Chalk,” “Clear Mint,” “Glow Orange,” and “Icy Blue,” which is then elevated with numerous educated design details. For example, N.E.R.D.’s moniker emblazons the right foot while Japanese calligraphy graces the left foot in tonal embroidery, and on the right pair’s rear heel tab you’ll also find N.E.R.D.’s brain logo.
On the left, you’ll find the number “20” in the group’s signature font, while each foot features a differently colored interior to continue the asymmetric look.
The color-blocking continues to the midsole plugs that are embedded into the foundations of the full-length BOOST sole unit, while “Clear Mint” outsoles round out the pair. Like some of the previous pairs, this will be a more widely-available drop as opposed to the super-limited versions that came out in the earlier days of the HU NMD’s life, like the “Y.O.U. N.E.R.D.” iteration.
adidas Originals will drop the PW HU NMD N.E.R.D. on August 6 globally via its CONFIRMED app and at select retailers worldwide.
In other news, there’s an Off-White™ x Nike Blazer Low on the way.
