Pharrell Shares First Look of an Upcoming adidas NMD S1 Model
The new silhouette features a futuristic midsole and toothy outsole.
Since December 2015, the adidas NMD line has played a pivotal role in success of the Three Stripes’ lifestyle footwear category, and even with a number of various collaborations and sub-models under its belt, it appears to be ready to evolve. Pharrell, a highly valued collaborator for the German sportswear brand, has just provided a first look via his IG at what looks to be the silhouette’s next chapter: the adidas NMD S1.
Like its predecessors, this newest offering bears a full knitted upper and features synthetic overlays on the slightly see-through quarter panels that also act as the stripe branding. The throat offers a more seamless construction as the overlays are tossed out and held together by flecked shoe strings. Downstairs is where the major updates are made. Steering away from the exposed BOOST cushioning, the adidas design team instead fashions the model with a futuristic looking midsole that boasts blocks in the forefoot and heels that slightly lip out and give the shoes a slightly dimensional build. Trefoil branding is spelled out across the forefoot piece while more branding is printed towards the lateral heel. Underneath, the outsole is molded with toothy edges that run from the front to the back.
Peep an on-foot look at this impending white and gray pair here above, and expect adidas to likely drop these in the coming months.
