Paperboy Paris' New Balance 992 "Fried Egg" Receives a Global Release
Other fried egg themed apparel items available.
After selling out immediately in Paris, the “Fried Egg” themed New Balance 992 released by popular café Paperboy Paris earlier this year now makes its way to Tokyo and the world for a limited release at BEAMS Harajuku, Bodega, and other online retailers.
Paperboy envisioned this shoe to highlight a product with strong use in their cuisine. Unexpectedly, the versatile and universal fried egg became the link they were looking for. “At Paperboy, we seek to create links and bridges between multiple universes, industries and concepts through food,” Paperboy brand director Banga explains.
The upper consists of white and cream tones across panels of suede, mesh, and leathers. Yellow oval-shaped overlays resembling egg yolk run across the eyelets. Playful fried egg graphics are printed on the tongue and insole, and the signature Paperboy logo emblazons the heel. To commemorate the domestic release of this sneaker in Japan, other Paperboy x BEAMS apparel items such as T-shirts, sweat shorts, socks, and caps will also be available exclusively at BEAMS.
This collection will be on sale at online retailers on June 19th and at BEAMS Harajuku for two days on June 26th and 27th with the shoes priced at ¥35,200 (approximately $320 USD) and complimentary items between ¥1980 and ¥8580 (approximately $18 to $78 USD).
