Outdoor-specialist Goldwin has unveiled its latest Summer 21 capsule collection highlighting the functional design of its extensive pant and short offering.
Initially garnering recognition for its progressive skiwear collections in its formative years, the Japanese label has since translated its technical winter heritage into functional outdoor garments — transcending as leaders in the outdoor gorpcore realm. Off the back of numerous high-profile collaborations, this season, Goldwin shifts focus onto bottoms.
Comprised of a selection of pants and shorts crafted from a range of technical fabrics including rip-stop and CORDURA® Nylon. Each of the materials has been chosen and developed to withstand different environments as well as adopting a three-dimensional design applied in its construction with a mobility-oriented cut for maximum versatility.
From water-repellent materials to security fastened zippers, the collection fuses functionality with refined contemporary design to deliver a capsule built for outdoor expeditions as well as everyday comfort. Boasting the brand’s signature relaxed silhouettes and minimalist details on refined basics, the versatile offering features two durable pants and five shorts designs with a choice of drawstrings or elasticated and buttoned fasteners suitable for any setting.
The Lounge Easy Shorts is crafted from stretch twill for optimal comfort whilst the Multi-Field Easy 7-inch Shorts uses a combination of lightweight Taslan nylon and natural cotton for added durability — its quick-drying, water-repellent features make this piece ideal for water activities. As part of its venture into more sustainability-led designs, the yarn used on the Active Nylon 5-inch Shorts derives from recycled plastic bottles without compromising its functionality both in wet and dry settings.
