This $127k USD Honda Civic Mugen RR Is JDM Perfection
Featuring a full inside-and-out conversion, this model is limited to just 300 units worldwide.

The FD2-era Honda Civic Type R is already a mighty Japanese hot hatch, but this wasn’t enough for the tuning arm Mugen when it first dropped back in 2007. Now, British JDM sales showroom Torque-GT has a fine example of the Honda Civic Mugen RR up for sale, served up as a bright red piece of JDM history.
Just 300 Mugen RRs were made, and this particular example is No. 24. It spent most of its life in Japan where it accumulated just over 52,000km since new, and has only been driven 440km since it arrived in the U.K., but we expect the new owner will be hard-pushed to keep it in storage.
Mugen tuned the Honda Civic Type R’s two-liter in-line four engine from 222 BHP to 237 BHP, which comes courtesy of a new camshaft, intake system, a bespoke exhaust manifold, a free-flowing twin-exit exhaust and an engine remap. Furthermore, the Mugen RR went on a diet, shedding 165kg from the stock form. As Torque-GT wrote in 2016, this is because the hood is made from lightweight aluminium, while the front bumper, front grille, lower air scoops and undertray are all made from carbon fiber.
At the rear, you’ll find a new diffuser housing two tailpipes, a big wing, an F1-style central brake light, and Mugen badging. You can also tell how low the RR sits to the ground thanks to the new set of springs, making the custom forged 18” rims look as if they’re neatly tucked under the extended wheel arches.
The list of details goes on, so to find out more head over to Torque-GT’s website now. The Honda Civic Mugen RR is listed for £89,990 GBP (or around $127,000 USD).
In other news, Honda has unveiled a new livery for its racing-spec Civic.
