'WandaVision' Wins Best Show at the 2021 MTV Movie and TV Awards
While Chadwick Boseman was posthumously honored with Best Performance in a Movie.

After taking a year off due to the ongoing pandemic, the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards returned on Sunday to celebrate this year’s top television and film talent at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California.
On night one, Disney+ and Marvel’s hit series WandaVision, which stars Elizabeth Olsen and Kathryn Hahn, took home four golden popcorn trophies during the ceremony, including Best Show and Best Performance In A Show for Olsen.
“Marvel fans, you guys are just the greatest fans anyone can have and I’ve loved playing this part for seven years,” the actress said, after claiming her award on stage.
Olsen, who returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Wanda Maximoff for the miniseries, also won Best Fight with Hahn, who plays Agatha Harkness, for their end-of-season showdown. Hahn was also presented with the award for Best Villain.
Trailing closely behind WandaVision, Disney+’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier claimed two prizes: Best Duo for Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan’s portrayals of the titular superheroes and Best Hero for Mackie.
In touching remembrance, Chadwick Boseman, who passed away last year after a silent battle with colon cancer at the age of 43, was posthumously honored with Best Performance in a Movie for his role in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Grown-ish star Yara Shahidi accepted the award on behalf of the Black Panther star, taking to the stage to commemorate his long-lasting legacy in entertainment.
“I’m so honored to accept this award on behalf of Chadwick Boseman,” she said. “I know I speak for myself, his legion of fans, and the communities he so beautifully represented when I say we are honored to celebrate his art today and every day.”
Elsewhere in film, Marvel just unveiled a first look at Owen Wilson‘s Agent Mobius in Loki. Watch the short clip ahead of the movie’s June 9 premiere.
