Rich B. Caliente and Rick Ross-Painted Porsche 911 Is Actually an NFT
The world’s first art car NFT that’s both digital and real.
It seems there is no limit to what can be an NFT, as the abstract artist and world-renown luxury car designer Rich B. Caliente has brought the world’s first art car minted NFT to market in the form of a Porsche 911 Carrera. It has been hand-painted by Caliente and Rick Ross, which has resulted in the 911 sporting a blue, purple, red, green, yellow and orange colorway that’s covered in vivid paint splatters and strokes.
The NFT is both a digital and physical one. What this means is that the winning bidder will get a digital artwork of the Porsche 911 as well as the physical car with its title inside of the NFT, providing the buyer with metadata, storage, and legal standards that seldom come with non-fungible token sales.
Conceptualized and launched by Slash Dot, an NFT management consultancy co-founded by Rich B. Caliente, this sale marks a first for something that could change the world of art even more than it already has — by bridging the gap between digital and reality. Bidding is open from June 4 to June 14 and is purchasable using the blockchain cryptocurrency Ethereum, while a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Irie Foundation — an organization that empowers, mentors, and provides cultural and scholarship experiences to youth in South Florida.
