Bandai Namco Announces New 'Gundam Seed' Anime, Manga and Game
Introducing MVF-X08 Eclipse Gundam.
To accompany the opening ceremony for the life-size Freedom Gundam at Shanghai’s Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Jinqiao, Bandai Namco has also announced the “Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Project Ignited” initiative.
Celebrating the 20th-anniversary of the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed anime in 2022, the project will be led by an anime film series already in production. A direct sequel to the television series, director Mitsuo Fukuda will oversee the project with details and release info to come at a later date.
There will also be a Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Eclipse side-story manga set in Cosmic Era 72 coming July 26. Centered around 17-year-old mobile suit pilot Tatsumi Hōri, 19-year-old commander Miyabi Oto Kiō, 18-year-old Coordinator pilot Ken Noland Suse, the trio serves as an empty unit known as “ODR” that functions during the “lost two years” between the two wars. The series will introduce MVF-X08 Eclipse Gundam a custom ODR mobile suit that will receive a Master Grade 1/100 model kit in August.
Finally, Bandai Namco is also developing a new Mobile Suit Gundam Seed that will be officially revealed in the coming months.
