A Hot Italian Summer's Night Informs Palm Angels and Bleue Burnham's Fine Jewelry Collab

HYPEBEAST deemed Bleue Burnham as one of the new guards in men’s jewelry, and for good reason too. The emerging designer’s work (which is stocked at imprints such as Goodhood and Très Bien no less) is the perfect gateway for those looking to add some sparkle to their jewelry rotation, without coming off too glitzy or glam. Instead, the rings and pendants made by Bleue Burnham find themselves at the intersection of experimental approaches and classic design, which is much like the luxury Italian label Palm Angels.

Fittingly, the two have come together for a collaboration. Inspired by a “warm Italian summer’s evening,” this seven-piece capsule captures a clear night’s sky and being surrounded by melting candles and good company, which is explored through the piece’s designs. For example, the “Melting Wax” pendant looks like dripping gold or silver, drawing from flickering candlelight and the subsequent melting candle. Housed in the gold or silver — which in true Bleue Burnham form is solid, not plated — is a baguette-cut lab-created sapphire measuring 10mm by 12mm.

Similarly, the “Night Sky” signet in gold combines the jewelry maker’s signature rough and textured rounded signet design with asymmetrically set natural, fair-trade, and hand-cut “galaxy sapphires,” a gemstone so rare the duo could only produce six rings. The “galaxy sapphire” features a milky white line in its design, giving the effect of a galaxy — or looking up at the sky during a hot Italian summer’s night.

Speaking on the collaboration exclusively with HYPEBEAST, Bleue Wickham-Burnham said, “Working with Francesco and the rest of the Palm Angels team on this collaboration has been a delight and an honor — and it has resulted in some beautiful jewelry. For me setting the inspirational genesis as an Italian summer’s evening with melting candles and a clear night’s sky feels like the perfect intersection. The voices of both brands can be heard whilst also being in harmony.”

All the pieces are made from recycled precious metals (bar the chain) and come packed in an exclusive organic cotton and hand-embroidered pouch. The “Night Sky” signet ring retails for £1,050 GBP (approx. $1,470 USD), while the silver pendant costs £690 GBP and the gold version will set you back £1,050 GBP (approx. $965 USD/$1,470 USD).
