London-based maharishi has released the lookbook for its Spring/Summer 2021 collection, titling the range “Maha Tailor Shop” after its inspiration points. THe main influence for the collection comes from how U.S. military uniforms were modified and customized for the tropical climate of Vietnam.

Referencing this influence, the collection features an original ’60s spec Cotton Sateen, which has been reproduced using organic yarns. This material is then used for reproduced and modified Utility suits, as well as more Eastern-inspired silhouettes produced from excess military cloths.

Elsewhere, the uniform theme continues as Utility and Jungle uniforms come in OG-107 Olive color standard Poplin or Cotton Sateen, while the same pieces are also finished in a black colorway as a nod to the Special Forces, who often overdyed their uniforms for night-time operations. Throughout the collection, embroidered patches and branch tapes are supplied by MAHAPATCHCO, while ARVN (Army of the Republic of Vietnam) camouflages in “Bullet-Proof” and “Purple” patterns are used.

Take a look at the “Maha Tailor Shop” capsule in the gallery above. The full collection is available now from the maharishi web store.
