Kim Jones has brought plenty of artists into the orbit of Dior‘s universe, from Shawn Stussy to Amoako Boafo, with Kenny Scharf providing colorful flair for the label’s Fall 2021 collection. Before the complete collection hits stores, however, Scharf has cooked up a brief beachwear capsule just in time for summer, lending his whimsical painted characters to a variety of seasonal essentials.

Cool blue hues reiterate the oceanside aesthetic present in the stylistic direction of the lightweight silk jacquard shirting and technical canvas swim shorts, with only one shirt distinguishing itself with a different pattern. Otherwise, the breathable shirt, shorts, scarf and a ribbon tied around a woven raffia hat all feature the same watery tones, complete with a roster of thematic smiling characters that range from turtles to octopus to jellyfish. The outlier, a crisp white short-sleeved number, takes on a technical silk emblazoned with faded charcoal-toned fish for a more muted finish.

Shop all of the seasonal Kenny Scharf items on Dior’s website and at its stores, with pieces all clocking in for four figures, aside from the $850 USD hat and $270 USD scarf. More will launch in the coming months as part of the Fall lineup.

Dior recently concocted a new sandal style to best complement its new warm weather wares.
