Nissan's New GT-R NISMO Is Even Better Than Before
Featuring an exposed carbon fiber hood, lightweight components, new badges, and class-leading brakes.

Japanese marque Nissan has taken the GT-R NISMO to new heights for 2022, releasing not just a newer take on the model for the upcoming year but also a special edition version that features new weight-reducing options.
Regardless of which spec you choose, the 2022 GT-R NISMO is available in the NISMO-exclusive “NISMO Stealth Gray” paint job color which is inspired by the track tarmac that GT-Rs have competed and won races on. As for the special edition version, you’ll find a clear-coated carbon fiber hood that not only adds an exposed weave finish to the car’s aesthetic, but also sheds 100 grams from the supercar’s weight.
Elsewhere, we find 20-inch Rays aluminum forged wheels in black and red, which sit in front of the huge Brembo calipers and carbon-ceramic rotors. In fact, they’re the biggest rotors ever fitted to a Japanese sports car, measuring 410mm in the front and 390mm at the rear.
As for power, the hand-built 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine delivers 600 HP, which coupled with the finely tuned and weight-balanced piston rings, connecting rods, crankshaft, flywheel, crank pulley, and valve springs, makes for a truly rapid car. If the latest model is anything to go off of, expect 0-62 MPH to be in the mid-two-seconds realm.
