New Balance Taps Public School's Dao-Yi Chow For "WE NEED LEADERS" Footwear and Apparel Collaboration
Fresh takes atop the New Balance 327 and FuelCell RC Elite are dropping alongside performance-focused men’s and women’s running apparel.
New Balance has been pumping out serious numbers of collaborations here in the new year, some of which have been crafted alongside the likes of AURALEE, Casablanca, BAPE and more. With no signs of slowing down in sight, the sportswear brand is now partnering up with Public School‘s Dao-Yi Chow for co-created footwear and apparel dubbed the “WE NEED LEADERS” collection.
The headliners of the capsule fall under the sneaker department as the popular New Balance 327 and the performance-focused RC FuelCell RC Elite runner are called up to the plate. The former is engineered with the standard synthetic and suede upper constructions, most of which is dialed to a deep navy hue. Accents arrive by way of gradient fluorescent green-to-white hues that land on the lateral “N” logos, the tongue branding and the “WE NEED LEADERS” lettering the medial side, while bright white spills onto the laces and medial side’s “NB” logos.
Its release counterpart — the FuelCell RC Elite — skews to the brighter side of the color spectrum as a majority of its upper build shows up with a clean “Glacier Grey” while matching neon greens land on the rear midsoles and the heels. The co-branded hit on the medial side is splashed with a muted navy tone.
Apparel for both men and women is also involved and includes performance joggers, tees, tanks, hoodies that come in both in “Eclipse Navy” and “Athletic Grey” colorways.
The WE NEED LEADERS x New Balance collaboration will be available exclusively on the Greenhouse app come March 19th and online through Foot Locker and Champs Sports on March 23rd. Prices for the shoes are $100 USD for the 327s and $225 for the FuelCell RC Elites.
