As the music world strives towards a return to some sort of normality, many live events across the globe are facing a second year of cancellations and postponements as the coronavirus pandemic continues to cause disruption.

Glastonbury — which was forced to cancel its 50th anniversary festival last year — faced the same outcome this time around too, with its June 23 commencement seemingly coming too soon for its organisers.

Despite no event for the second consecutive year, the Somerset-based festival has revealed that for 2021 it will be selling tickets for a unique live streamed event filmed from its Worthy Farm home on May 22.

For the first time in the festival’s history, ticket holders will be able to watch acts like Coldplay, HAIM, Jorja Smith, Kano and more performing at landmarks such as the Pyramid Field and the Stone Circle, all from the comfort of their own homes.

Supporting Glastonbury’s three main charities — Oxfam, Greenpeace and WaterAid — the five-hour long event will be interspersed with words from special guests, guiding viewers from through Glastonbury’s online journey.

Tickets for Live at Worthy Farm are on sale now via the Worth Farm webstore, retailing at £20 (approximately $27.50 USD).

In other news, HYPEBEAST spoke to industry experts about the likelihood of music festivals happening at all in the U.K. in 2021.
