Burberry Unveils Two New Skins for 'Honor of Kings' Character Yao
The two creations reference Burberry’s signature check and its recent SS21 collection respectively.
Burberry has created two exclusive skins for Honor of Kings character Yao. The ‘Spirt of Nature’ design nods to the brand’s signature gabardine and House check, while the ‘Spirit of the Forest and Ocean’ design uses one of its looks from the Spring/Summer 2021 collection “In Bloom”: a royal blue trench coat paired with crystal vest. Yao’s deer will be augmented to complement these two skins, taking on a mirrored form for ‘Spirit of Nature’ and emits blue light through its crystal form for ‘Spirit of Nature and Ocean.’

Honor of Kings, a multiplayer battle arena mobile game, has become the most popular game in China and one of the highest-grossing games of all time worldwide. Burberry creative director Riccardo Tisci explains that the expansiveness of this universe and its audience was appealing. “I am excited to see how technology has found a way to build and nurture the core human needs of personal and emotional connections. Honor of Kings has created an incredible digital world where we can find a new way to dream with our Burberry community… I am so excited to have designed exclusive skins that will bring Burberry house codes into this immersive universe,” he says in a press release.
The both skins are available now via in-game purchase for all Honor of Kings players in mainland China. Discover more about the partnership in Burberry’s newsroom post.
Honor of Kings is developed by TiMi Studios, a subsidiary of Tencent Games. Burberry’s relationship with Tencent goes back to 2019 with the announcement of an exclusive partnership to develop a now-open social retail experience together.
