1017 ALYX 9SM's Mono Slip Is Here to Take Your WFH Slippers Into the Future

Back in January, we got a closer look at the 1017 ALYX 9SM Mono Slip courtesy of the brand’s very own Matthew M. Williams, showcasing a Fall/Winter 2021 pair in a chrome-mirror silver makeup. Ahead of this, the label has released its Mono Slip in black and white renditions for SS21, which are available for pre-order now.
Said to be an “extraordinary example of technical development,” the Mono Slip takes a familiar slip-on design we’ve all come to know and love since the lockdown started around a year ago and gives it a contemporary edge that only 1017 ALYX 9SM could do. The result is technical and futuristic, with its singular-piece EVA foam body sporting a seamless molded construction that benefits the wearer with the utmost comfort, while looking truly alien at the same time.
The slipper features grooves and contours all around, looking as if they’ve been shaped by aerodynamics but then switched up with bulky elements. If you look closely you’ll see a bumper on the heel, a small square-edged lip on the vamp, and even less obviously, branding embossed onto the wedge heel and the side-wall.
For now, 1017 ALYX 9SM is offering the Mono Slip in the SS21 colors of black or white on a pre-order-only basis on its website. They are priced at €155 EUR each (approx. $185 USD) and are due to ship in mid-April, before a gloss black and chrome silver pair are set to release later this year.
