Pro Surfer Danny Fuller Spotlights Meditative Images of the Ocean in New Rizzoli Book

Hawaii-born professional surfer, photographer and filmmaker Danny Fuller is the focus of a new book slated for publication by Rizzoli. Entitled Liquid Horizon: Meditations on the Surf and Sea, the 208-page book features a selection of meditative and moving visuals of the ocean. Fuller has spent thirty years as a professional surfer, best recognized for riding the waves of North Shore Oahu’s famous Pipeline and Maui’s dangerous Jaws.

“Fuller’s nocturnal seascapes of the worlds most savage and beautiful waves, all captured exclusively by moonlight with slow exposures, share the soulful beauty of the ocean, in meditative, painterly studies of subtle changes of light and color,” as per a statement by Rizzoli. “In the tradition of artists drawn to the sea for inspiration, Fuller expresses a surfer’s deep spiritual connection to the ocean and to the meaning of consequence in surfing.”

Also included in the book are writings by Gerry Lopez aka “Mr. Pipeline” who is an American professional surfer and shaper alongside American art writer and gallerist Adam Lindemann. Fuller’s work has been exhibited has been exhibited at Venus Over Los Angeles (LA), Dirt Gallery (NY), Murphy and Dine Gallery (NY) and more.
