Tokyo-based gallery NANZUKA presents a new solo exhibition titled “Dinosauria” by Hajime Sorayama. The works in this latest presentation display Sorayama’s dinosaurs in his signature mecha form.

Sorayama has been depicting works of mechanical animals and humans since the 1980s. Showing his enthusiasm for dinosaurs, the renowned Japanese artist describes the extinct creatures as childhood idols. The solo presentation showcases artwork in two- and three-dimensional forms, featuring paintings of stegosaurus, raptors, and triceratops with metal motifs, there’s even a sculpture of a robotized Tyrannosaurus. Some of the pieces in the exhibition will be reproduced on merch with the collaboration of UNIQLO‘s Jurassic World collection. The collaborative UNIQLO UT collection will be available in March.

“Dinosauria” is on view until March 7, 2021. Visit NANZUKA’s website to learn more.
