Georges St-Pierre is making a comeback, but this time it’s in Hollywood. The esteemed MMA fighter and former UFC star is having a second-go as a thespian, confirming his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The 39-year-old is marking his return to the MCU next month to reprise his role as Batroc the Leaper on Disney+‘s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier — a long seven years after he played the supervillain in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. St-Pierre expresses his enthusiasm rejoining the MCU in a recent statement saying, “No one is more excited than I am to come back. I feel very blessed and happy. It was a great learning experience.”

St-Pierre claims to equate his preparation for acting to his fighting profession stating, “It’s a lot of work, and I put in the same amount of work and passion that I used for training. In martial arts, you start a white belt. That’s where I have to start with acting. I have to climb the mountain again.”

The MMA fighter hopes to expand his résumé from action roles to those as robust as other notable fighters-turned-actors like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Dave Bautista.

Georges St-Pierre will be joining castmates Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp and Wyatt Russell in the TV series in March 2021. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is available to stream on Disney+ starting Friday, March 19.

In case you missed it, Netflix is adapting Lupita Nyong’o's book ‘Sulwe’ into an animated musical.
