Chinatown Market and Converse have teamed up for a new NBA capsule inspired by designer Jeff Hamilton‘s famous NBA Championship jackets. Spotlighting the jackets Hamilton made for the ‘02 Los Angeles Lakers and ‘98 Chicago Bulls — two legendary teams that had just finished off the ever-illusive championship “three-peat” — across the Chuck 70 and Pro Leather, the collection is a colorful compilation of hoops history.

Hamilton’s ‘02 Lakers jacket combined the Lake Show’s signature purple and gold with palm trees and other breezy City of Angels-inspired graphics, a free-flowing ethos that’s translated two different ways on the shoes it inspired. The Chuck 70 Hi is done up in light blue with a black LA skyline and Walk of Fame-style star graphics, while the Pro Leather uses an abundance of regal purple with gold accents and its own palm tree hits. Lakers fans will surely remember that the jacket itself was once worn by the late, great Kobe Bryant.

On the other end, the Bulls-inspired shoes offer a more stark Windy City mix of black and red to replicate a Hamilton-designed jacket once sported by Michael Jordan. The Chuck 70 Hi offers bold skyline details and number prints, with the Pro Leather adding Bulls patches, bright blue details and even green embroidered laurel wreaths around the toebox and on the heel.

The Chinatown Market x Converse x NBA collection will release on the Chinatown Market webstore March 6, then hit global retailers like size? on March 12.
