Feel the Wind Between Your Toes With Acne Studios' Bolzter Bryz
A chunky mary jane, mule, sneaker hybrid for $500 USD.
Hybrid sneakers are all the rage as of late, with Clarks Originals introducing its chukka-mule and the likes of Maison Margiela x Reebok combining classic with couture, and now Acne Studios has arrived with its “bit of this, a bit of that” offering. Welcome to the Bolzter Bryz, the Swedish stalwart’s all-new go-anywhere hybrid sneaker that combines elements of its Bolzster with design cues reminiscent of this season’s biggest shoe trends, namely mules and mary janes.
The mule style comes in with the Bolzter Bryz’s slingback-style heel, however, mary jane design details such as the velcro strap fastening on the vamp and the open collar elements on the sneaker are much more apparent. These touches are found in black faux suede and sit alongside black textile mesh components on the mid-section of the shoe, giving it a tactile aesthetic that matches its unmissable sole unit.
Sticking with the Bolzter theme, this pair features a chunky sole unit that’s finished in a semi-translucent blue tone and features prehistoric-looking nodules all over it, adding grip and an overall hiking aesthetic. Rounding out the shoe is the rubberized black mid-sole section, a rope lace that runs around the shoe’s perimeter, and a heel tab at the rear.
The Acne Studios Bolzter Bryz in “Crystal Black/Blue” retails for $500 USD and can be purchased from stockists such as Très Bien now. Take a closer look at the pair above.
