Nas' Sweet Chicks Cooks Up a Chicken and Waffle-Themed Clarks Originals Wallabee Collab
Wafflebee, anyone?
John Seymour and Nas‘ chicken and waffle establishment Sweet Chick branched into London in 2019, and now it has tapped yet another British hallmark with its Clarks Originals collaboration.
Taking on the inimitable Wallabee silhouette, Sweet Chick serves up two tasty pairs both of which are indebted to the restaurant’s theme. With one served in a caramel waffle tone and another coming in a fried chicken hue, the Wallabee’s suede uppers now also sport a grid pattern akin to that found on a waffle.
Hairy suede works the uppers, while smooth suede has been used for the toe, vamp, and throat/tongue section of the shoes, which come in a contrasting, lighter hue alongside speckles that, we presume, are to represent the seasoning on the chicken. Waxed flat laces and hangtags denoting the collaborative effort, as well as a classic gum crepe sole unit, round out the pairs.
