PJ Tucker Laces up in Custom Off-White™ x Air Jordan 5 to Honor Virgil Abloh
As seen on-court during the Miami Heat vs. Denver Nuggets game earlier this week.
In the recent NBA game between the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets, PJ Tucker was seen sporting a custom pair of Off-White™ x Air Jordan 5 in honor of the late designer, Virgil Abloh.
Tucker took to the courts in the Abloh-designed sneakers in a Sail colorway, which hit shelves last year. The Miami Heat forward put his own mark on the coveted Air Jordan 5 collab writing, “Virgil will always be here” on the medial side of the left shoe and “Thanks for a lifetime of inspiration” on the other. One day before Abloh’s death, Tucker also posted to Instagram a pair of Off-White™ x Air Jordan 2 Lows that he received. The pair had Abloh’s signature written text on the shoe, reading “Air Tucker” on the midsole and “Virgil 2021” written on the other.
It is evident that Abloh’s influence spanned across the industries including sports. Tucker’s tribute was amongst one of many who have shown and paid respect in their own way after hearing of Abloh’s untimely death. Check out both pairs of Off-White™ x Air Jordans below.
