The trailer, which was released in September, sees decades-old footage of Ye and Mos Def (Yasiin Bey) going back and forth on lyrics that would eventually land on “Two Words” from West’s debut record, The College Dropout.
JEEN-YUHS includes a vast range of never-before-seen videos from Ye’s early career. Though Kanye is not involved in the documentary himself, he did approve Simmons and Ozah’s footage for usage in the film. According to a report from Billboard, the documentary was sold for more than $30 million USD in April.
