RIMOWA has an extensive history of bringing designers and creatives from the world of streetwear into its orbit: the LVMH-owned luggage maker has embarked on projects with Virgil Abloh, Kim Jones, Supreme, and even Rihanna, who was the face of a brand campaign earlier this year.

Now, the brand is launching one of its most ambitious collaborative programmes yet: ‘Vol. 1’, a series of exclusive RIMOWA pieces that have been reimagined and reworked by ten global fashion designers. The 26 one-of-a-kind items will be sold exclusively on HBX, with all proceeds being donated to the COVAX Facility, a UNICEF-funded project that supports the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines to some of the world’s poorest countries.

The designers involved in the project are a combination of emerging and established names, and represent a cross-section of the industry’s most exciting talents. They are 3.Paradis, About Dreams, Ashley Williams, CLOT, doublet, ENFANTS RICHES DÉPRIMÉS, Hood By Air, MA®KET, Pizzaslime, and Pleasures.

Unsurprisingly, the resultant products each carry the signatures of the designers involved. Every contributor was given complete creative freedom to redesign the pieces – with the only stipulation being that it still had to function as a piece of luggage.

The collection will go on sale on November 22, at 9am EST, exclusively at HBX. Prices range from 1014 € to 3925 € (approx. $1,160 to $4,492 USD). Check back to HYPEBEAST later this week for an up-close look at every one of the designs.
