More than four years after the ride’s initial announcement, Disney World has finally announced a 2022 opening window for its upcoming Marvel attraction Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT.

Described as a family-friendly storycoaster, Disney says that the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride will be a “totally new type of roller coaster experience” it has developed specifically for the attraction. Its compartments will be able to rotate 360 degrees to allow riders to take in the entirety of their environment as they help the Guardians save the galaxy. The ride will also feature the theme park’s first-ever reverse launch on a roller coaster and will be one of the longest enclosed coasters in the world.

While Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is scheduled for launch sometime in 2022, there’s no specific date announced just yet, so fans should definitely be on the lookout for more updates to come.

Elsewhere in related news, Disney has settled its Black Widow lawsuit with Scarlett Johansson.
