In anticipation of the game’s upcoming release, Activision has now teamed up with actual war photojournalists to create a set of limited-edition prints captured within Call of Duty: Vanguard itself.

The project brought renowned photographers Alex Potter and Sebastiano Tomada Piccolmini — both of which covered conflicts in the Middle East extensively — into the virtual environment of the game through a specifically designed portal system allowing them to capture cinematic yet realistic scenes in tribute to those who served in WWII. The limited-edition prints will be sold to fans with all proceeds donated to the Call of Duty Endowment fund, an initiative that has now funded the placement of more than 90,000 veterans into employment and aims to reach 100,000 veterans by 2024.

“We wanted to showcase the amazing graphics of Call of Duty: Vanguard in a unique way. The technology in gaming really blurs the line between virtual and reality,” Activision CMO Fernando Machado told HYPEBEAST. “We could geek out of the tech behind the game, but we wanted an idea which would really capture the hearts and minds of people while showcasing how realistic and immersive the graphics of the game are.”

“Our Call of Duty Endowment fund has already helped place almost 100,000 veterans in high-quality jobs,” he added. “We are incredibly proud of the work we do in support of veterans, so any marketing activity which helps raise funds for this cause is a huge priority to our team. It is great when we can create campaigns for our games while also doing some good for people and society.”

For those interested, you can purchase the limited-edition prints over on Bleecker Trading, with each going for $515 USD — the amount needed to place a veteran in employment. Call of Duty: Vanguard will arrive on November 5 on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Elsewhere in gaming, A Quiet Place is now being adapted into a video game.
