There’s a lot to celebrate in the month of October whether that be the spookiness of Halloween, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Drake’s birthday if you’re a 6God stan and the overall settling into the Fall season. And so for this first full week of the month, sneaker brands such as Nike, adidas and Jordan Brand have lined up a charming batch of new footwear releases. However, before we run through the best footwear drops over the coming days, let’s first catch you up on all of the major sneaker news that erupted in the last week.

In terms of new exclusives, HYPEBEAST kept its Sole Mates editorial series going strong as we spoke with Mike Packer about his relationship with the Nike Air Trainer 1. On top of that, we got the opportunity to chop it up with AURALEE‘s Ryota Iwai to discuss the imprint’s SS22 collection. Nike had themselves quite the eventful week with its reveals as official images of Drake’s NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra in white finally popped up and Errolson Hugh was spotted rocking the upcoming and aggressively-styled ACRONYM x Nike Blazer Low. Moreover, we were able to get detailed looks at a nostalgic Nike SB Dunk Low “Fog” colorway, a LeBron 19 “Tune Squad” makeup and the upcoming Dunk Low “Goldenrod.” Buzzing news also sprung from the Jordan Brand family as more images of the SoleFly x Air Jordan 1 Low emerged along with detailed shots of the Air Jordan 1 Mid “SiEMPRE Familia” and the Air Jordan 12 “Royalty.”

The folks over at adidas had plenty of new installments to uncover as well. Kanye West shined a light on another adidas YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 “MX” colorway along with the YEEZY 500 High “Mist Stone”, and we got the opportunity to speak with Trae Young about his first signature shoe with the brand. Additionally, collaborations with the likes of Mita and Kawasaki were brought to light.

In terms of other brands, New Balance and Salehe Bembury blessed us with their upcoming “Universal Communication” Collection, Balenciaga dropped a wild Crocs boot, Brain Dead teased an ASICS TRABUCO MAX collab and Balansa and Reebok connected for a metropolitan lifestyle capsule.

Now that we’ve got you all up to speed, let’s get into this week’s top 10 releases. And when you’re finished, be sure to check out HBX for more footwear styles.

UNDEFEATED x Nike Dunk Low “5 On It”

Release Date: October 5
Release Price: $120 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: UNDEFEATED’s “5 On It” initiative is continuing this week with the release of its all-black Dunk Low collaboration. Despite being a monochromatic iteration, these kicks actually bear a substantial amount of details. Five different materials of premium suede, pony hair, ostrich suede, nylon and canvas format the upper and the five strike logo lands on the tongues and lateral heels.

UNDEFEATED x Nike Air Force 1 Low “5 On It”

Release Date: October 5
Release Price: $120 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: To conclude its collaborative “5 On It” Pack releases , UNDEFEATED and Nike are launching one more Air Force 1 Low colorway. The kicks create a healthy marriage between elevated and casual as the overlays are treated with croc skin while the toe boxes and quarters are formed with canvas. White accents complete the base layer’s Golden State Warriors-esque palette while the bottoms are finished with an off-white hue.

Nike Space Hippie 01 “Carbon Green”

Release Date: October 5
Release Price: $130 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: It’s no secret that Nike is going all in with its sustainability efforts by applying earth-friendly materials to a plethora of its footwear launches. And one of the models that’s at the forefront of this strategy is the Space Hippie 01 which is finally dropping in its striking “Carbon Green” colorway. Uppers are dialed to its titular shade and come accented with neon tongue and heel tabs as well as “trashy” sole pieces that opt for a pastel exterior.

Air Jordan 5 “Bluebird”

Release Date: October 7
Release Price: $190 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS and Foot Locker
Why You Should Cop: The Air Jordan 5 rarely will ever see a monochromatic makeover, but this Fall, Jordan Brand has switched things up a bit and given the 1990 silhouette an all baby blue outfit. Dubbed the “Bluebird” colorway, this womens-focused offering comes constructed with suede uppers — a noticeable deviation from its usual leather build — that’s drenched in its nominal shade and features slivers of silver that pop up on the midsole spikes. If you’re a UNC fan, these are certainly right up your alley.

Nike Dunk High “Championship Navy”

Release Date: October 8
Release Price: $110 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS and Foot Locker
Why You Should Cop: Nike is pumping out new Dunk colorways at rapid speeds, and to ring in the month of October, it’s bringing back another “Be True To Your School” iteration. The “Championship Navy” Nike Dunk High bears the standard two-toned look that’s with its titular shade being the most prominent on mudguards, eyestays, Swooshes, heels and collar flaps while white contrasts through the toe boxes, quarters and collars. These would surely pair well with nearly everything that you’ve got in your closet being that they’re neutral-focused.

Patta x Nike Air Max 1 “Monarch”

Release Date: October 8
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: Patta
Why You Should Cop: Patta is embarking on its seventh collaboration with Nike, and together the brands have whipped up an Air Max 1 “Monarch” colorway. This team-up gives Nike heads everything that we’ve come to love about the silhouette from the materials to the throwback-inspired color-blocking. However, it’s most striking feature are the mudguards which have been supplied with wavy indents to give the shoe a fresh and subtle twist.

CLOT x sacai x Nike LDWaffle “K.O.D 2”

Release Date: October 9
Release Price: $180 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS and sacai
Why You Should Cop: When it comes down to the top sneaker collaborators of the modern era, Chitose Abe certainly falls within that field. Nearly everything she touches, especially when it comes down to producing Nike projects, it sells out instantly and lists on the after-market for double the retail price and beyond. To kick off the month of October with a bang, the two parties are reconnecting with CLOT to release the CLOT x sacai x Nike LDWaffle “K.O.D 2” in “Obsidian Grey.” This newest offering draws from the follow-up to CLOT’s original “Kiss of Death” iteration from 2006.

Mark Gonzales x adidas Skateboarding Superstar ADV

Release Date: October 9
Release Price: $100 USD
Where to Buy: adidas
Why You Should Cop: Legendary skater Mark Gonzales already has an impressive catalog with adidas, but to start Fall off on the right foot, he’s cooking up yet another installment with the Three Stripes’ skateboarding. It’s here that he supplies the adidas Superstar ADV with a stealthy and playful new makeover. The backdrops of the top and bottom halves are both outfitted in black, leaving the only visible accents to arrive from the outlines of his “Schmoo” characters that are pasted across the upper.

Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Flax”

Release Date: October 9
Release Price: $100 USD
Where to Buy: Nike
Why You Should Cop: Fall is officially here, and there’s no better way to celebrate than copping some seasonally-friendly kicks. And luckily, Nike has elected to bring back its staple Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Flax” colorway. The monochromatic variation keeps all of its original design cues intact such as the nubuck uppers and gum bottoms. If you’re tired of your Timbs, but want the same Fall-type of vibe and a sportier look, these just might need to get added to your rotation.

Patrick Mahomes x adidas ZX 2K Boost

Release Date: October 9
Release Price: $160 USD
Where to Buy: adidas
Why You Should Cop: Patrick Mahomes becomes a different human being once he steps foot onto the gridiron, and his game is electrifying to watch. And so for his newest collaboration with adidas, he’s decided to deliver that same energy with playful multi-colored paneling and psychedelic midsole patterns to the adidas ZX 2K Boost. This arrives hot off the heels of his signature training shoe release.
