adidas Crafts a Two-Piece "GORE-TEX Underground" Footwear Capsule That's Inspired by London
Featuring stealthy takes of the ZX 9000 and UltraBOOST.
London is most known for its foggy weather, remarkable tourist attractions and gritty lifestyle, and to honor the UK destination and its culture, adidas is engineering a special two-piece footwear collaboration. The “GORE-TEX Underground” collection involves the classic adidas ZX 9000 and the adidas UltraBOOST, both of which are whipped up with stealthy appearances and weatherproof uppers.
The ZX 9000 in this assemblage keeps the model’s original shape, but it reworks its upper half with a materials and elements that are more technical and functional, especially for the upcoming colder seasons. The textile base layer is lined with GORE-TEX material to keep your feet dry in harsher climate conditions, and shows up with a full black exterior. Instead of the traditional shoe laces, the kicks are bolstered with a speed lacing system and fidlock closure that is styled with reflective detailing. Additional accessories include the GORE-TEX banners that are planted onto the quarters, red banners that run across the throat and the heel tabs which are outfitted with gray and black stripes.
Its UltraBOOST launch sibling essentially follows the same design cadence. Higher halves are executed with the all-black motif and come lined with GORE-TEX while a pop of red contrasting is located on the lower end of the throat. However, a sliver of silver is brought in on these runners as the “ultra boost” branding on the heel molds are done up with a metallic finish.
The adidas ZX 9000 is releasing via adidas UK come October 20 while the UltraBOOST is slated to drop on December 31.
