To mark Valentine’s Day this year, Chinese artist Zhang Quan‘s Melting Sadness label put together a take on the adidas Originals Superstar.

Dubbed “BEE WITH YOU,” the upcoming release serves as the latest in the German sportswear giant’s ongoing collaborative efforts with Melting Sadness.

The classic shell toe Superstar is rendered in tonal white and marked with playful illustrations of a bee and flowers at the tongue and heel to represent a blossoming relationship. But the main detail element on the shoes are the flower and leaf badges that are woven through the laces and loosely tacked on throughout the upper. Finishing up the design of the collaboration are printed insoles, adidas embroidery on the heel tab and “adidas SUPERSTAR” printed on the heel.
