T Is for Torsion in the Latest adidas Originals ZX 5000 "A-ZX"
Coming in “Bright Yellow/Shock Cyan.”
adidas Originals continues to celebrate the legacy of its ZX line with its latest “A-ZX” series sneaker, introducing a ZX 5000 standing in for the letter “T,” after being inspired by the shoe’s core Torsion technology.
It’s the first time adidas Originals has taken such a direct form of inspiration, using the Torsion bar’s signature “Bright Yellow” and “Shock Cyan” colorways for the makeup of this shoe. Made from a technical grid-patten mesh weave, the ZX 5000 seen above features plenty of OG components such as Three Stripes made from webbing, carbon elements in the ZX heel cage, and a black and yellow heel tab also made from webbing.
The full “Bright Yellow” upper is continued with matching laces, a complementing lining and a midsole that’s also finished in the daring shade. adidas Originals’ only touch of contrast can be found on the tongue where a tab reads off the brand’s moniker alongside ZX 5000 and Torsion branding.
Rounding out the pair is its black outsole and, on the underneath, the single touch of “Shock Cyan” that highlights the Torsion bar that inspires this shoe’s entire aesthetic.
adidas Originals has debuted the shoe on its Australia-based website with a release date of January 21. The pair is set to cost $220 AUD (approx. $170 USD). Take a closer look at the limited-edition pair above.
