Black Out The Ballot x Circulate “Registrar” T-Shirt

Ahead of what is being regarded as “the most important election of our lives,” Los Angeles’ Circulate is teaming up with Black Out The Ballot to mark National Voter Registration Day. Black Out the Ballot is a collective of creatives comprised of individuals assembled by Vizion Jones and Jen Bui who are committed to changing the infrastructure in disenfranchised communities to ensure racial equality, social justice, and financial empowerment.

Coming together on the “Registrar” T-Shirt, the duo looks to encourage more people to register and vote in the upcoming election that will dictate the next president, Supreme Court justices, local officials, climate change approaches and state of education. Circulate founder, Corey Populus, note that the design of the shirt came to him while watching a documentary on the Black Panthers, more specifically a poster from Bobby Seales campaign for mayor that stood out to him. The “Registrar” T-Shirt features “EACH ONE REGISTER ONE” on the front and “BECOME A REGISTRAR” on the back. But most importantly, the front of the T-shirt features a QR code that can be scanned by a smartphone to launch registration to become a voter.
