Paria Farzaneh‘s Spring/Summer 2021 presentation held in Amersham, U.K., for London Fashion Week was explosive — literally. Alongside a strong selection of outerwear, graphic knits, and camouflaged pieces, was the show’s star attraction: a pair of collaborative Converse Pro Leather X2 sneakers.

Much like the collection, the sneakers are informed by and reflect on the world’s current state. Explosions and fireworks kicked the show off before models hundreds of meters away walked towards onlookers in a field in the English countryside. On their feet were the Paria Farzaneh x Converse Pro Leather X2, a basketball sneaker from the Converse archives reimagined with a rugged outlook, covered in archetype Farzaneh design cues.

The designer updates the pair with an exaggerated sole unit and technical aesthetic upgrades all around, combining the worlds of sport and utility together in one sneaker. Signature nuances, such as a paisley print appear on the upper half of the mid-panel, while premium off white leather has been used for the lower half of the upper.

Metal D-ring eyelets are studded into the leather eyestay and secure the two-tone rope laces in place, which run up to the Paria Farzaneh-branded mesh tongue. Even the Converse Pro’s star logo is split between the two textiles on the upper, going to show the level of detail packed into this pair.

Rounding out the pair is its heels, which are finished with original Converse Pro branding and a heel stripe made from 3M-equipped leather. The Paria Farzaneh x Converse Pro Leather X2 will release in November 2020 in all sizes for men and women. Take a closer look at the pair above.
